Christmas is a time for sharing and spreading joy. Every year, our parent company, PharmaLeaf India Private Limited plays Secret Santa with the entire team, bringing smiles and surprises to everyone. 2022 was even more special! While one often associates gift-giving with the anticipation of receiving something in return, there is a deeper and more profound meaning to giving without any expectation of reciprocation. Christmas has always been a reminder of the joyous tradition of giving and spreading love to those around us.
In December 2022, Team PharmaLeaf joined hands with Zun Foundation to play Secret Santa for a group of 100 students residing at Loyola Kappepaladi School, located in Jagir Pannur, Raichur District. This school is run and managed by the Jesuit priests of the Trust - Center for Non-formal and Continuing Education who dedicate their efforts towards providing education to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Trust is responsible for overseeing Loyola School, Xavier School, and Loyola Kappepaladi School, which provides education to over 2,300 students. Additionally, it manages hostels where 800 students reside.
Understanding the financial challenges faced by these students, Team PharmaLeaf decided to share their Christmas tradition with the children. The team pooled their Secret Santa budget, which was then doubled by the management and presented to the Jesuit trust for aiding in the school's Christmas celebration preparations.
In true Christmas spirit, the students decorated and set up a stage along with a Christmas tree for their celebration! Adorned in their costumes, all the students performed a skit depicting the birth of Christ, an all-girls choir performance, and a face-painted mime performance. To conclude the celebration, a student donned a Santa costume and delivered a final performance, spreading laughter in the audience! Rev. Fr. Leo Pereira, SJ the principal of the school, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the entire team. This Secret Santa initiative served as a reminder that Christmas is not just about receiving gifts, but about sharing joy. The act of playing Secret Santa took on a whole new meaning!
